My First Blog

I'm going to be completely honest here: I'm no blogger. In fact, I've never even written a blog post before this one. But that's okay because we're all beginners at one point or another! So today, I want to share with you three things every new blogger should think about before they start their own blog.

Three things to think about before you start a blog:

  • What am I interested in?

  • What do I want to learn about?

  • What do I know about it?

When writing a blog, the most important thing is to be interested in what you're writing about. If you don't care about your topic, no one else will!

To get started with finding something exciting and worthwhile to write about, ask yourself: "What am I interested in? What do I enjoy?" Take some time to brainstorm answers to these questions and then narrow them down.

Some ideas for topics might include:

  • Food

  • Health & fitness

  • Travelling (both domestic and international)

Once you have some ideas of topics that interest you, think about what information or knowledge YOU have on those particular subjects? How can you share this with others who may not know as much as yourself? What information could they benefit from reading/watching/listening to? Are there any common misconceptions people hold regarding a particular topic (e.g., "Everything is better than it used to be", "The world is getting worse every day")?

The first step to learning how to blog is figuring out what you want to write about. You can learn about anything, but there are some topics that are easier to write about than others. If you have an interest in something specific or if you would like to share your knowledge with the world, then these types of blogs are the best way for you to do it.

Some examples of common blogging topics include:

  • Hobbies/Activities (such as cooking/gardening)

  • Travelling (both domestic and abroad)

  • Parenting tips

Now that you have a blog, what do you plan on writing about?

This is an important question because it will determine the type of blogs that people are going to read. Whether they are interested in your blogs or not depends on how interesting they are and if they can learn something from them. If a person reads your blog post and gets nothing out of it, then she will not come back again.

So, if you’ve been thinking about starting your own blog, now is a great time to do it! We hope we’ve given you some helpful tips on how to go about it. If this was a little overwhelming and you need some more time before diving in completely, there are many ways to start small. We would recommend trying out some free platforms like WordPress or Blogger so that you can get used to writing before committing entirely. Remember: no one expects perfection from their first post—in fact, most bloggers eventually come back and revise their work later on down the road when they have contributed more ideas or simply grown more comfortable with their audience’s expectations. The important thing is making sure that whatever content goes up online reflects who YOU are as an individual; don't let anyone else tell us how our voices should sound!
